ZIM- Official Charter Company for the 2009 IODA African Championship (2009-08-31)
The 2009 IODA African Championship was held from July 11th to 19th, 2009 in Richards Bay, South Africa. The Championship was organized by the KwaZulu Natal Optimist Class Association in conjunction with the Optimist Class Racing Association of South Africa under the authority of the International Optimist Dinghy Association (IODA) and with the permission of South African Sailing.
All the charter boats were provided by Zou InterMarine, Qingdao, China.

It was an intense Deauville International Week ! Wind, chop, currents, sun and rain too… with 10, difficult, yet superb races. Nicolas Bérenger (Kone Monospace) and his crew, carried away the regatta, at the end of a very tight fight, notably with the Swiss, led by their "amateur" skipper, Eckhard Kaller on Brokerline 3, who finished 2nd. Nicolas Bérenger finds himself at the top of European Longtze Premier circuit in front of Luc Gellusseau (Lufthansa).
