Few words about the Optimist One Design Racing Dinghy

More world-class sailors have learned to sail on Optimist than any other boat. The Optimist, also called the OP, is very well suited for beginners to intermediate sailors between the ages of 6 and 15 years. It is safe, stable, easy to handle and at the same time it offers enough possibilities for the advanced sailors to prove their ability.

The first OP was designed in 1947 by Clark Miles. It is specifically designed to be a junior training and racing boat and now enjoys active fleets in over 100 nations. It is the only boat, approved by ISAF for sailors under 16 years of age.
